A TCA peel is a cosmetic treatment using Trichloroacetic acid to remove the top layer of the skin and promote skin cell turnover. This highly-sought after skin treatment helps reduce hyperpigmentation, fine lines, sun damage and acne scars. It’s also great for keeping a refreshed and youthful look.
After your treatment, you typically begin to peel on the 3rd day and continue peeling for 3-5 days. This varies between patients as everyone is different. Popular areas where peels are used include the face, neck and decollete. Most patients use TCA peels to reduce sunspots and fine lines and book their peels four to six times per year. Results start to show after the first treatment. For the best results, an initial series of 3-5 peels is recommended with maintenance two times per year.
As tiny needles penetrate the skin, the body reacts by triggering the production of collagen and elastin. These are vital components to reduce pore size and improve texture and tone for the long term. If you’re a PRP face rejuvenation client, we’ll use the remaining PRP and perform a microneedling session.
After about 3 days of healing, the result is new and improved cells that deliver a radiant complexion. Most of our patients alternate TCA Peels and Microneedling skin treatments.
